Sista Pat Roundtree Rivers



SistahPat RoundtreeRivers currently serves as Co-Pastor at For His Glory Church with her husband, Ben Rivers, Jr., they have been married  45 years.  As Co-Pastor she servers as Prayer Ministry Director, Women’s ministry leader, Wives Coffee Chat Bible Study teacher, Preparing to be a Wife Bible Study teacher,  Overseer of The Lord’s Kitchen and Clothes Closet,  Sistah Pat has received two resolutions one from the California State Assembly for Black History Month 2014 and from the Sacramento City Council , Women Awareness Month 2014, both recognizing her continued community volunteer work for safer, healthy and better  community.  Sistah Pat Volunteers with several organizations: National Day of Prayer as the Spiritual Advisor; Sacramento City Wide Pastors Fellowship; Helping Hands Feeding Ministry of Sacramento as Spiritual Advisor; Team Leader/speaker  for The Invitation to Healing A Woman’s Heart Conference, serves the California Southern Baptist Convention as the volunteer Women's Evangelism Specialist,  training women across California to share their faith with courage and confidence. Key Clergy Leader for Sacramento Area Congregations Together(ACT) and PICO(People Improving Congregations through Organizing) where she works with 52 faith based groups to help resolve some of our city and states social justice issues,  this organization called her to the White house Jan 2014 to discuss reducing gun violence in our nation, She was also called to Florida Attorney General’s office to discuss mass incarceration of blacks in Florida. Locally she works with the Cops & Clergy in strategizing to reduce gun/gang violence, Works with the Summer Lights program to help keep teens off the street during the summer. She is tireless in her work to reach out to the lost and the saved just the same knowing that all are in the need of God’s love and forgiveness.  She is a much sought after preacher, conference speaker/teacher, mentor and best known for keeping it real.

Join City Gates Pray for a refreshing time of prayer and quiet reflection in the beauty of God's creation.
This journey's devotional topic will be "Lord Hear Our Cry", the National Day of Prayer theme for 2015, presented by special guest speaker, Sista Pat Roundtree Rivers, of For His Glory Church.

This year’staa second retreat will be September 12, 2015. As in the past we will meet at the Wal-Mart Truxel (Garden Shop entrance) parking lot and carpool to the biblecal Garden.

Departure Time - 8:45
Departure Time from Garden - 1:00 pm, arriving in Sacramento by 2 pm.


What to bring: bible, journal and something share for a picnic potluck lunch. Chicken and potato salad will be provided.

This retreat is open to all but space is limited, if you want to bring a friend or group please let us know right away, to secure your spot. This event fills up quickly. Also please let us know if you need a ride or if you are willing to drive. All drivers will receive a free worship CD for the Journey. Come one.. come all. PRAYER WALKING in Fairfield from 8-10 a.m on Saturday October 4th. Begin in Walgreens parking lot on West Texas or Raley's Parking lot on North Texas (near Texas Roadhouse). We will meet in the middle at IHOP parking lot. All ministries are welcome to participate

Unless otherwise noted, all prayer walks start at 7:30 am on Saturday, Sept 27th. Try to be at your gate or community location by 7:15 am.
New Area - Antelope
Meet at the 7/11 parking lot, 5501 Auburn Blvd, on the corner of Auburn and Garfield. You will be disbursed in teams from there. Contact Victoria at 916.370.4773
New Area – Roseville/Rocklyn
Meet at Old Town Roseville, City Hall 325 Vernon Street, Roseville Ca. This group will cover Roseville, Rocklin and the rail line in prayer. Contact Eric at 916.671.0420.
New Area – Carpenter Hill - Folsom
This area was requested as a High Place. Located in Folsom you can view Sacramento from its vantage point. Team Lead needed.
New Area – Del Paso Heights

Downtown State Capitol – 2 Locations – 3 options of prayer

Meet on the West Side (10 Street) at 7:30 am. Contact Tom Senter at 916.201.8783. Capitol walkers have the option of walking halfway down Capitol Mall to the Wells Fargo Building, to meet with the Tower Bridge walkers. Directions: From eastbound I-80, take the East Chiles Road exit and travel east one-quarter mile to the west levee access.
From westbound I-80, take the "County Road 32A East Chiles Road" exit immediately west of the west end of the Yolo Causeway, turn right at stop sign and head south under freeway to west levee access.

Folsom
